Research activities

  • Aids cancer specimen Resource Kenya( ACSRK - 2009 - August 2013). This is an AIDS malignancy resource facility that maintains paraffin embedded tissue blocks.
  • D43 - Aim I- Capacity building for research on AIDS malignancies.

Pathology core research facility is a fully fledged histopathology/phenotyping and molecular pathology laboratory developed under  the D43 project. This facility  offers routine histopathology and cytopathology services and supports various research activities namely:

  • CDC/KEMRI - Cervical Cancer screening program in collaboration with Dr. Megan of UCSF.
  • Tenwek Hospital - Oesophageal Cancer screening program
  • Postgraduate research project
  • Kenya Wilm's Tumor Study
