First lady donates paintings along with ksh 250,000 to pediatric oncology ward IE at KNH. It’s a painting of mother comforting a baby painted by Liz Kirui. Three renowned painters Geraldine, Gabriel and Liz were touched by the plight of Kenyan children suffering from cancer. They decided to paint and raise the money for treatment by auctioning their paintings. They visited the First Lady in the state house and convinced her to be the guest of honour at the auction. The auction was held at Karen Country Club on 22 November 15. Dr Fatmah Abdallah represented 1E and gave a brief talk on paediatric cancers in Kenya. The first lady bought the painting pictured above at Ksh 250,000. She also donated the painting to the ward. Other two paintings were sold at a total price of Ksh 250,000.
