 The goal is to prepare students and staff to be job creators instead of job seekers. The top three winning ideas from each of the Faculties Hackathons will get a chance to participate in the final Nairobi Innovation Week competition in 2024.

The UON 7th Innovation week will be held on 17th-19th May 2023 at main campus with the theme being innovation and commercialization for sustainable development. 

The Office of the Associate Vice-Chancellor, RIE, has organized a virtual webinar on research output, intellectual property, innovations and commercialization scheduled on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. from 2.00 to 4.00 pm.  The webinar targets all  Faculty academic staff and students.

The Department of Library and Information Services has organized for online training on Increasing Research Visibility - ORCID, Google Scholar & others Impact tools.

The training is scheduled on the 23rd November 2022 from 10 am to 12 noon.

ORCID is a system that provides persistent digital identifiers that distinguish researchers from each other hence connecting researchers to their research activities, while Google Scholar supports authors to set up a profile page that lists their publications and citation metrics.

This year's University of Nairobi Research Week 2022 will be held from Monday 24th to Friday, 28th October, 2022. Thirteen (13) conferences in different thematic areas have been lined up to discuss research and innovation in different fields.

The theme for this year's #UoNresearchweek is 'Emerging research and technologies for sustainable development in Society'
