On Tuesday, 20th November 2022, the University of Nairobi, Faculty of Health Sciences was privileged to receive visitors from Switzerland, Denmark, Uganda and Zambia working in collaboration with Kenya Hemophilia Association under the Chairmanship of Dr Kibet Shikuku, also a lecturer in the Department of Human Pathology. The visit was mainly a courtesy call to the Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof George Osanjo to enhance possible collaborations in the creation of a centre of excellence for hemophilia and other bleeding disorders including sickle cell disease.
The program is supported by Novo Nordisk Hemophilia Foundation and Novo Nordisk Foundation. Of note is that kenya is supporting Tanzania in capacity building with hemophilia and other bleeding disorders. It's earmarked to support Uganda in a new possible grant starting in 2023. We thank our donors for working closely with the University of Nairobi through the faculty and department.
