Passing away of Dr F. Okinyi
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Dr. Fredrick Okinyi, a lecturer in the Department of Human Pathology, and the Head of the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Unit, University of Nairobi. He died on 21 September 2024 while undergoing treatment at the Mater Hospital.
Dr. Okinyi was an outstanding haematologist, a brilliant academic, and a beloved teacher dedicated to the education of medical students and service to patients.
He was greatly attracted to the study of blood cells and provided care to countless patients as a consultant haematologist at the Kenyatta National Hospital.
Dr. Okinyi was a spirited leader, and an active member of many professional associations. We shall miss him as a friend, colleague, teacher, doctor, and scientist.
Our heart felt condolences to his family and friends. May his soul Rest In Peace.
