Launch of the new African Donation by World Federation of Hemophilia
Kenya participates in the Launch of the new African Donation by World Federation of Hemophilia. Dr Kibet Shikuku, the current Chairman of Kenya Hemophilia Association and faculty of Unit of Hematology, UON was invited to participate in the launch of the new donation to Africa. Kenya benefits to a tune of 653 million worth of factor concentrates. These have so far been received and we pride in being the first country to receive these long acting antihemophiliic drugs for our patients
Hemophilia is a medical condition in which the ability of the blood to clot is severely reduced, causing the sufferer to bleed severely from even a slight injury. The condition is typically caused by a hereditary lack of a coagulation factor, most often factor VIII.
