Dr. Josephine Rioki was honored by Kenya Accreditation Service

This years celebration of World Accreditation Day Dr. Josephine Rioki was honored by Kenya Accreditation Service as one of the top Accreditors from different categories on 9th June 2025.

Dr. Rioki was Awarded for Long Service Team Lead/Technical Assessor of the Year . 

She holds a Ph.D. and MSc. in Clinical Cytology (University of Nairobi), an MSc. in Molecular Medicine, and a BSc. in Medical Laboratory Sciences (JKUAT). She is a lecturer in the Department of Human Pathology at the University of Nairobi and heads the Medical Laboratory Sciences and Technology unit. With over 14 years of teaching experience, she also serves as Vice Chairperson of the Society for Clinical Cytologists, Kenya.

 Previously, she worked for 19 years with the Ministry of Health as a Medical Laboratory Technologist and is currently a Director at Momo Medical Laboratory and Cancer Screening Centre in Nakuru. Dr. Josephine is a KENAS assessor since 2013, ASLM-certied auditor, and former MAURITAS international assessor. She has audited numerous local and international laboratories and is trained in ISO 15189, ISO 17025, and ISO 20387. 

Her interests include quality systems, cytopathology, cancer genomics, AI in cytology and research in breast and cervical.
