The Department staff members welcome the postgraduate students
The Department of Human Pathology warmly welcomed its new cohort of postgraduate students during an orientation meeting held on 11th September 2026 at the Teleconference.
The meeting brought together the newly enrolled postgraduate students and members of the Department’s teaching staff, providing an opportunity for the students to be formally welcomed and introduced to the academic team and the department’s learning environment.
The students were welcomed by the Chairman of the Department of Human Pathology, Dr. Ephantus Njagi Chomba, who congratulated them on joining the department and encouraged them to approach their postgraduate training with commitment, professionalism and a spirit of collaboration.
The orientation meeting was also attended by Dr. Waweru, Dr. Ndungu, Dr. Oyaro and Mr. Willis, who joined the Chairman in welcoming the students and sharing guidance on their postgraduate journey.
The Department is pleased to receive a total of 16 postgraduate students for the 2026 intake. This includes 13 students enrolled in the Master of Medicine (MMed) in Human Pathology programme and three students enrolled in the Master of Science in Clinical Cytology programme.
The postgraduate programmes offered by the Department provide students with opportunities to develop advanced knowledge and practical skills in pathology and cytology, while contributing to teaching, research and clinical service.
As the new students begin their studies, the Department looks forward to supporting them throughout their training and providing an environment that promotes academic excellence, professional development, research and teamwork.
The Department of Human Pathology extends a warm welcome to the entire 2026 postgraduate cohort and wishes them a successful and fulfilling academic journey.
