Dr Francis Wanyama was involved in this year's free AIDEX-Rainbow for Africa medical camp held in partnership with BUSIA County Government from the 24th of June to the 9th of July, 2024 at the Sio Port Level 4 Hospital, Busia County, Western Kenya. They assisted over 2500 patients with various medical conditions. A total of 140 surgeries were carried out without a cost on patients up from 42 that were done last year. Hundreds of patients also received various specialized services for free, including medical consultations, X-ray services, Ultrasound, lab diagnosis, pharmaceuticals, laser treatment, chiropractic, physiotherapy, cancer screening, sickle cell screening and health awareness talks. In this year’s camp, they had a team of volunteers that included specialized medical service providers from various Kenyan Hospitals and Universities such as the University of Nairobi as well as Internationals from Melbourne, Australia, others were medical students from both Australia and Kenya and non-medical personnel. This camp is annually sponsored by AIDEX, Rainbow for Africa Kenya - R4A Ke and RAINBOW FOR AFRICA UK - R4A UK MEDICAL DEVELOPMENT.
