Kakamega Deputy Governor H.E Hon Ayub Savula on Friday received a highly automated self-draining US Technology bed from Dr. Frank Wanyama, a UON staff and representative from a US Manufacturing Firm called Easy Drain Products LLC. The special bed is critical in units such as the ICU, surgical ward, renal units, etc
Hon. Savula said the new bed technology will be a game changer in management of patients at the Kakamega County General and Referral Hospital.
According to Dr. Wanyama, the equipment protects patients from bedsores, hospital infections, and bad smell amongst other benefits, greatly restoring the dignity of immobile patients and the health work during the period of hospitalization
The firm pledged to donate more beds to the County's largest health facility.
Present was Nominated MCA Hon. Joel Okwako, among other officials from the health sector.
