Training on Minimally Invasive Tissue Sampling at the Department

The Department of Human Pathology is privileged to host a fresh set of training from 24th-28th October 2022 on Minimally Invasive Tissue Sampling, an autopsy technique meant to equip Pathologists, Medical Scientists and Technologist with technical skills that can provide data about causes of death, similar to that obtained through a complete diagnostic autopsy. UoN/KNH, Department of Human Pathology, having been established as a MITS training hub in Africa, will provide the training via a team lead by Dr. Edwin Walong.

Dr Barasa and Dr Walong present at the Kenya Renal Association Conference

Pathology is essential in every branch of medicine. In integrating pathology, the annual Kenya Renal Association Conference was held at PrideInn Shanzu on 28th September to 1st October 2022 with Dr Barasa and Dr Walong having a session. The theme of the conference this year was ‘Improving sustainability and affordability of renal care in Kenya.’

Dr Barasa presented on nephropathology, transplant testing and diagnostics while Dr Walong gave a presentation on molecular diagnostics of glomerular diseases.
