Dr. Rajab, Prof Githanga (Dept. of Human Pathology, Prof Abinya, (Dept. Internal Medicine) and other participants from KNH attended the 2nd African Cancer Coalition meeting in Uganda.  This is a group of oncologists from 11 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) who have come together to establish the African Cancer Coalition, with the aim to scale up high-quality cancer treatment for patients in their charge. This initiative arose in response to the significant and growing burden of cancer in SSA.  Cancer here is characterized by late, often suboptimal diagnosis, limited access to treatment and poor patient outcomes. The American Cancer Society, Clinton Health Access Initiative, National Comprehensive Cancer Network® and the IBM Health Corps are partnering with the African Cancer Coalition to make this vision a reality.
