With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Dr. Fredrick Okinyi, a lecturer in the Department of Human Pathology, and the Head of the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Unit, University of Nairobi. He died on 21 September 2024 while undergoing treatment at the Mater Hospital.

Dr. Okinyi was an outstanding haematologist, a brilliant academic, and a beloved teacher dedicated to the education of medical students and service to patients.

Dr Francis Wanyama was appointed as a Board Chairman of a Level 4 Sio Port Sub County Hospital by the Kenya Gazette notice Vol 98 dated 5th July 2024.
