Miss Josephine Rioki conducts assessment at PATHCARE Kenya Limited

As one of the Certified Laboratory assessors in Kenya, from 5th - 6th June 2023, Miss Josephine Rioki conducted Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS) assessments at PATHCARE Kenya Limited.

Accreditation is important for testing (general and medical) and calibration laboratories, certification and inspection bodies.

Free Neuropathology and Neurosurgical medical camp in Makueni

The free neuropathology and neurosurgical medical camp was organised by the Makueni government in partnership with the Brain Tumour Association of Kenya (BTAK) on 1st-3rd June 2023 in three hospitals.

Lead in the medical camp was Dr Parmenaus Minda Okwemwa, a consultant neuropathology and Chairman of the Brain Tumour Association of Kenya, and Prof Christopher Musau, a specialist neurosurgeon. They were joined by other neurosurgeon residents and medical students from the Faculty of health sciences.

A courtesy visit from a Haematopathologist from University of Manchester

Dr Richard Byers, Haematopathologist from the University of Manchester paid a courtesy visit to the Department of Pathology staff and registrars on Thursday, 18th May 2023, at 2pm. The visit included discussion on areas of collaboration, among other things.

Partnership with Wondfo Biotech Company Limited

The partnership between the department and the Wondfo biotech company limited was finalized on Thursday, 27th April 2023 by the signing of the collaboration agreement by the DVC Academic Affairs, Prof. Julius Ogeng’o and Mr. Bear Xiong of Wondfo Biotech Company limited.


The Wondfo specializes in creating biotech machines and providing training of the machines which deal with human pathology, forensic expertise and other fields.

NationWide Campaign in a free screening Hemophilia program

Kenya Hemophilia Association (KHA) in partnership with the University of Nairobi invites everyone to a NationWide Campaign in a free screening program aimed at identifying and treating Hemophilia Patients.
