On Monday, June 12th to Tuesday, 13th June 2023, Dr Francis Wanyama led the delegation to the second Kenya-Uk improvement and investment health summit 2023 at Four points by Sheraton Hotel, Nairobi.
Graced by various Vice Chancellors of Kenyan universities and Governors on improvement and investment of health in the country. Discussions on various topics on health in Kenya and UK were made by the health professionals together with possible projects.
For the third year running, the global heart program has helped students from University of Nairobi and Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin to develop research project in medicine and public health.
On 20th-23rd June 2023, Dr Peter Maturi, coordinator of the program, organized for the faculty staff members in the program including Prof Amayo in discussions on the program together with the Faculty Dean, Prof George Osanjo.
The students got to present four research projects that they are working on from both universities.
As one of the Certified Laboratory assessors in Kenya, from 5th - 6th June 2023, Miss Josephine Rioki conducted Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS) assessments at PATHCARE Kenya Limited.
Accreditation is important for testing (general and medical) and calibration laboratories, certification and inspection bodies.

The free neuropathology and neurosurgical medical camp was organised by the Makueni government in partnership with the Brain Tumour Association of Kenya (BTAK) on 1st-3rd June 2023 in three hospitals.
Leading the medical camp was Dr Parmenaus Minda Okwemwa, a consultant neuropathology and Chairman of the Brain Tumour Association of Kenya, and Prof Christopher Musau, a specialist neurosurgeon. They were joined by other neurosurgeon residents and medical students from the Faculty of health sciences.

On Wednesday, 31st May 2023, Department Chairman, Dr Wairimu Waweru met with the new Association of Medical Laboratory Science and Technology students of the University of Nairobi (AMELSTUN) officials.
The officials introduced themselves and a candid discussion on their agenda into the new role with Dr Waweru.
The Medical Laboratory Assessments in Mauritius was held on 24th April- 2nd May 2023 at the Laboratory Medical de Ville Souers with Ms. Josephine Rioki representing Kenya as the Technical assessor.
The exercise was hosted by MAURITAS, the accreditation body in Mauritius.
The Brain Tumour Association of Kenya (BTAK) is conducting a neurosurgical camp in Makueni county from 1st to 4th June 2023 and is inviting medical students to join in the medical camp.

Dr Richard Byers, Haematopathologist from the University of Manchester paid a courtesy visit to the Department of Pathology staff and registrars on Thursday, 18th May 2023, at 2pm. The visit included discussion on areas of collaboration, among other things.
